HISTORY

The Nation of Israel is an ancient ethnic group founded by the great biblical patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob- whose name was changed to Israel. These men travelled and lived within the regions of North East Africa over 3000 Years ago amongst the great ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Canaan, Syria, and Kush. The initial establishment of Israel as a nation of people began with the great prophet, leader and teacher Moses after the great Exodus from Egypt. The most important aspect of Hebrew Israelite culture is God’s Torah. Torah is God’s divine instruction given to the people of Israel for the maintenance of righteousness, morality and civilization. It was and still is the key to the strength and endurance of the nation of Israel.  Regardless of where we are or were at any place in time in history, the adherence to Torah has been our success and pathway back to The Creator.

“The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade has been one of the most pivotal markers for the Hebrew Israelite diaspora to date. No event since the Exodus from Egypt has impacted the mental, physical and spiritual direction of Israelites in the manner in which this period has. Generations of black people from the regions of West Africa were subject to the horrid experiences of kidnapping, shackling, torture, beating, rape and enslavement. Being the victims of the socio-economic system of white supremacy for centuries, we have lost our culture, identity, self-awareness and spiritual connection with the Creator. In the interim, we have labeled ourselves after the countries of enslavement and have abandoned our spiritual guidance and God given principles for the religions of slave masters, as well as other faiths that are not of our traditions and not of God. Black people in the western hemisphere have been waiting for salvation for centuries without the proper guidance back to the source of all, YHWH the Creator.

The late 1800’s and Early 1900’s began to bare witness to the re-awakening period of the God’s chosen people. Men like Prophet Saunders Crowdy, founder of Church of God Saints of Christ began teaching God, observing the Sabbath and Passover and establishing houses of worship in America. Rabbi Arnold Josiah Ford, black nationalist and founder of Beth B’nai Abraham Ethiopian Synagogue was the Chief Musician and organizer in Marcus Garvey’s UNIA (United Negro Improvement Association. Ford was also instrumental in establishing the foundations of the Hebrew Israelite movement. Rabbi Arthur Wentworth Matthew was the great Israelite pioneer and founder of the Commandment Keepers Congregation of the Living God and also founded the Israelite Rabbinical Academy. The late great Rabbi Matthew was not only responsible for the creating a strong foot hold for Israelites in Harlem, NY, but was responsible for training and commissioning teachers and rabbis to spread the Truth of God to his Chosen people throughout the New York Metropolitan Area and other locations throughout America.

In this present day there are many schools of thought and different ideologies, but the awakening of God’s chosen people is still in progress. Ahm Zadik aims to place itself in a position to do our best job as one of many organizations contributing to the restoration of the Nation of Israel.
